Marilyn Duckworth

Marilyn Duckworth published her first novel in 1959 and has continued to produce works of fiction that reflect contemporary life. The recipient of many residencies and awards, she is invariably included in lists of writers who have influenced New Zealand literature.

Highly regarded for her powers of observation, she employs in her autobiography Camping on the Fault Line (2000) the frankness of style that marks her fiction, giving a fascinating insight into what has underpinned her development as a novelist.
